H1N1 Vaccine Information

From Multnomah County and the Centers for Disease Control

The Multnomah County Health Department's priority is to vaccinate the population by giving the most vulnerable priority groups first access to the vaccine. Pregnant women are at extremely high risk, as are children under 5, and accordingly, pregnant women and children under will being receiving the vaccine.

From the Multnomah County Incident Commander: “We will prioritize pregnant women and children under 5 for vaccine until we feel we have vaccinated enough of this population and we have enough vaccine for other populations in our priority groups. This decision was based on hospitalization data put together by Surveillance.”

PSU H1N1 Upcoming Clinics

PSU and SHAC have planning for the H1N1 continuously. The SHAC staff is currently creating a quick mobilization model, ordering additional supplies, and training staff to plan for a H1N1 clinic for priority students. As the date nears and is finalized, SHAC will be posting the information on this Web site and promoting the clinic throughout the university. Unfortunately, at this point, we have no information from Multnomah County about when higher education might receive the vaccine.
