Individual Counseling
At some time or other most students feel overwhelmed by the responsibilities of college,
work, family or other relationships. They may also have other significant mental health
issues.
The Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) staff is available to help students cope with
these stresses. That help may range from a single discussion with a mental health
professional to a carefully planned program of counseling or therapy, including psychiatric
consultation and medication if necessary.
For counseling and other psychological services, students are encouraged to call the office
at 503-725-2800, or stop by the clinic in UCB 200 between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday
through Thursday, or 8am to 5pm on Fridays. You will be asked to set up an initial
appointment with a counselor. That counselor will decide with you which CAPS service might
best meet your needs and help you get connected.
