Oregon Health Plan

As of January 1, 1998 full time undergraduate or graduate students are eligible for the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) if they:
Qualify for a Pell Grant, are not already insured, and
meet the resource requirements.
OR
- Are pregnant and meet the resource requirements.
OR
Are in a program serving displaced workers per Section 236 of the Trade Act of 1974 and meet the resource requirements.
OR
Receive AFDC or Poverty Level Medical.

Resource Requirements
3 Month Income Averaging

Liquid Resource Limit |
To receive the OHP, an individual
must have a 3 month income average of $671 per month or lower.
|
|
A person must have less than $5000 in liquid
assets to qualify for the OHP. |
For a family of three, the income average must
be $1138 per month or lower.
|
|
Liquid assets include: cach, stocks, bonds,
savings, checking accounts, IRAs, and trust funds. |
The average includes the month an individual
applies for the OHP and the previous two months.
|
|
Liquid assets do not include a house or car. |
